Special Meeting                                                                                             Wednesday June 24th, 2020

Due to COVID-19 meeting conducted open forum, on first come first serve bases with required 6’ distancing requirement, as well as electronically via conference call/Zoom.

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Mayor Bill Voss.

Roll Call: Carter, Greiner, Pottebaum, Voss. One vacancy.

Pottebaum moved approval of the agenda with citizen comments moved to the top, seconded by Carter. Roll Call: Unanimous.

Resident Pat Mahoney was present to voice concerns with Knapp Creek Park and older children. Requested signage of age appropriate for the equipment be installed.

Discussion was held regarding how to proceed with vacancy. 

Discussion included but not limited to the following: Option of appointment or special election, election cost and schedule with Benton and Linn County Auditors.

Residents present interested in the vacancy were Randy Bauer, Bret Frieden, and Tammy Horak. Residents were also present to support interested candidate.

Greiner moved to accept the resignation of John Pegump effective immediately, seconded by Voss.          Roll Call: Unanimous.

Carter moved to proceed to fill the vacancy by the appointment of Randy Bauer to fill the term of John Pegump, seconded by Pottebaum. Roll Call: Ayes: Carter, Pottebaum. No: Greiner, Voss. Motion Failed.

Greiner moved to proceed to fill the vacancy by the appointment of Jeff Kane to fill the term of John Pegump, seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Ayes: Greiner, Voss No: Carter, Pottebaum. Motion Failed.

Greiner moved to proceed to fill the vacancy by the appointment of Tammy Horak to fill the term of John Pegump, seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Ayes: Greiner, Voss No: Carter, Pottebaum. Motion Failed.

Greiner moved to proceed to fill the vacancy by the appointment of Bret Frieden to fill the term of John Pegump, seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Ayes: Greiner, Voss No: Carter, Pottebaum. Motion Failed.

Voss moved to proceed with a Special Election, seconded by Greiner. Aye: Unanimous. 

Greiner moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:28 p.m., seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Unanimous.
