Walford Park and Recreation Minutes

Regular Meeting                                                                                                                                 April 5th, 2022

Meeting called to order 7:08 PM.  Lane, Miner, Hebert, Primmer present.

Motion to approve March meeting minutes.  Seconded by Primmer.  Approved unanimous.

Motion nominating Patrick Miner as Secretary by lane.  Seconded by Hebert.  Lane, Primmer, Hebert ayes.  Miner abstained.  Motion carried.

Motion by Miner to approve invoice for Firehouse Pyrotechnics Invoice 2207.  Seconded by Primmer.  Approved unanimous.

Baseball season discussion:

Pony League - insufficient players to form a team.  Atkins and Fairfax will accommodate the Walford players, if interested so they have a place to play

Little League team will play Iowa Valley League schedule.

Machine pitch - 2 teams

T-ball - 2 teams

Machine pitch and T-ball will play inter-town with Fairfax/Walford

Concession stand lease - discussion , signature will be sought for Pam Beatty renewal of concession stand lease.

Basketball court vendor/quote review and options selected.  Action now pending updated quotes from Courts Fore Sports.

General grounds/maintenance

Reports of poison hemlock under trees in the Knapp Creek park - likely require removal

Support pole for tornado slide at main park has metal protrusions that require filing down

Motion to adjourn by Lane.  Seconded by Hebert.  Meeting adjourned 8:00 PM.
