Walford Park and Recreation Minutes

Regular Meeting                                                                                                Tuesday January 3rd, 2023

Meeting called to order at 7:02 pm.  Lane, Davis, Hebert, Primmer, and Miner present

Motion to approve minutes from December 6, 2022 by Davis.  Seconded by Hebert.  Approved unanimous.

Motion by Primmer to elect Lane as Parks Board Chair.  Seconded by Davis.  Approved unanimous.

Motion by Lane to elect Miner as Secretary.  Seconded by Davis. Approved unanimous.

Annual coaches meeting - no action taken, recommend postponing coaches meeting until after February

Noted that Ely will be added to T-ball and coach pitch league in 2023.

2023 Fun Day organizers present to communicate update/plans to Board

Events planned to begin evening of June 9th, with dance event at Knapp Creek Event Center.

Further discussion included locating craft/vendor fair at City Hall, 3 on 3 basketball using new outdoor court, pickle ball clinics, bags tournament, and movie in the park.  Additional ideas still being considered if support can be organized.

Citizen comments - inquiry made on if a town-wide light display contest has ever been considered as a Parks Board sponsored event.  

Motion to adjourn by Miner, seconded by Lane.  Meeting adjourned 8:12
