Walford City Council ProceedingsSpecial Meeting July 30, 2018 Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Mayor Bill Voss.Roll Call: Huber, Kane, Pegump, Voss. Bergmeier was absent.Kane moved approval of the agenda as posted, seconded by Pegump. Roll Call: Unanimous.A Public Hearing was held at 7:01 p.m. regarding Annexation request from property owners Gordon and Shirley Sevig. No written or oral objections received. Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of the annexation.Kane moved to close Annexation Hearing at 7:02 p.m., seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Unanimous.A Public Hearing was held at 7:03 p.m. regarding Rezoning Request from property owners Gordon and Shirley Sevig from “A” Agricultural to “R-1” Single Family. No written or oral objections received.Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of the rezoning.Huber moved to close Rezoning Hearing at 7:04 p.m., seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Pegump moved to rescind Resolution No. 6-18-1 approving the Annexation request from property owners Gordon and Shirley Sevig, seconded by Huber. Roll Call: Unanimous. (Legal description error).Huber introduced Resolution No. 7-18- approving the Annexation request from property owners Gordon and Shirley Sevig, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous. (Correction to legal description).Voss moved to rescind Ordinance No. 210 Amending the Walford Code of Ordinances 2017 by amending Chapter 165 Section 165.03 being the Zoning Ordinance, changing the Zoning District as shown on the Official Zoning Map property owned by Gordon and Shirley Sevig from “A” Agricultural to “R-1” Single Family, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Huber introduced Ordinance No. 212 Amending the Walford Code of Ordinances 2017 by amending Chapter 165 Section 165.03 being the Zoning Ordinance, changing the Zoning District as shown on the Official Zoning Map property owned by Gordon and Shirley Sevig from “A” Agricultural to “R-1” Single Family, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Kane moved to waive the Second and Third Readings of Ordinance No. 212 Amending the Walford Code of Ordinances 2017 by amending Chapter 165, Section 165.03 being the Zoning Ordinance changing the Zoning Districts as shown on the Official Zoning Map property owned by Gordon and Shirley Sevig from “A” Agricultural to “R-1” single Family, seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Unanimous.Pegump moved approval of the Final Adoption of Ordinance No. 212 Amending the Walford Code of Ordinances 2017 by amending Chapter 165, Section 165.03 being the Zoning Ordinance, changing the Zoning Districts as shown on the Official Zoning Map property owned by Gordon and Shirley Sevig from “A” Agricultural to “R-1” Single Family, seconded by Huber. Roll Call: Unanimous.Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval of the Preliminary Plat, Plat waivers and Final Plat. Kane moved approval of the Preliminary Plat for Schmidt Estates First Addition to Walford, Benton County, Iowa, seconded by Pegump. Roll Call: Unanimous.Huber moved approval of the Sanitary Sewer Deed Restrictions/Easement Agreement with Adam and Alexis Schmidt, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Voss moved approval of the Final Plat waivers for Schmidt Estates First Addition to Walford, Benton County, Iowa, seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Kane moved to rescind Resolution No. 6-18-2 approving the Final Plat for Schmidt Estates Frist Addition to Walford, Benton County, Iowa, seconded by Huber Roll Call: Unanimous.Kane introduced Resolution No. 7-18-5 approving the Final Plat for Schmidt Estates First Addition to Walford, Benton County, Iowa, seconded by Voss. Roll Call: Unanimous. (Various changes to meet city code requirements).Huber moved approval of Resolution No. 7-18-3 awarding 1st Avenue and 2nd Street S. Culvert Improvement Project, to Schrader Excavating of Walford in the amount of $21,756.00 seconded by Kane. Roll Call: Unanimous.Pegump moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:13 p.m., seconded by Kane.
